5:32 p.m., 400 block Avenue A: Caller reports subject rolling around on the ground in front of a closed business; police make contact and the person says they are fine.

6:29 p.m., Thai Me Up: Caller requests a previous employee be trespassed from the business. The person is contacted and advised.

7:57 a.m., 800 block 10th Avenue: Caller reports his car was broken into overnight.

12:45 p.m., 26th Avenue and Mason: Caller reports subjects having sex in a car on a public street; police talk to the couple who deny that happened.

2:48 p.m., Turnaround: Unauthorized street vendors are reported doing business; police contact them and advise them of ordinances and advise them to leave the area.

5:33 p.m., 1100 block S. Holladay: A caller reports her cane fell off the top of her car when she left the parking lot of Riley’s.

11:31 p.m., Seaside Golf Course: Caller says people are on the patio causing a disturbance. Patrol driving by say no one is on the patio.

12:09 p.m., 400 block Avenue C: Caller reports male lurking in her yard all morning. Police locate the subject and trespass him from the property.

2:23 p.m., U.S. Highway 101 by Helicopter Pad: Motor vehicle accident.

2:46 p.m., 400 block S. Roosevelt: Subject is transported to the hospital for drinking cooking sherry. Subject is also cited for theft.

11:26 p.m., Broadway: Subjects playing volleyball in the street are advised to stay out of the roadway.

2:53 a.m., Quatat Park: Subjects reported trying to get the swan boats into the river are gone on police arrival.

4:11 a.m., 1100 block N. Roosevelt: Subjects having a campfire in a parking lot are visited by police and the fire department.

9:47 a.m., Beach and Avenue S: A small child reported lost is reunited with its parents.

9:26 p.m., 1000 block S. Holladay: An assault is reported.

3:57 p.m., Lewis and Clark Way: Caller says an unknown man is in her garage. Police arrive and trespass him from the property.

10:35 p.m., 1000 block S. Holladay: Sex crimes are reported.

2:44 a.m., 300 block Elk Creek Road: Police assist Cannon Beach police with a disturbance.

6:59 p.m., The Cove: Caller reports a large U-Haul van with people living in it. Police contact the occupants who say they are here for beach volleyball weekend and their lodging fell through. They say they will be leaving in the morning.

9:24 p.m., 1400 block N. Wahanna: Caller reports someone is in their basement. The Clatsop County Sheriff’s office is advised.

8:12 p.m. 85000 block U.S. Highway 101: A vehicle reported stolen from Brookings is located and stopped by Camp Rilea by Oregon State Police.

A 65-year-old female cyclist who crashed her ride Aug. 3 at 5:18 p.m., on U.S. Highway 101 and Hillila Road briefly lost consciousness; she was transported via Medix to Columbia Memorial Hospital. Police say she was riding with her husband when she swerved to avoid broken glass. ODOT workers transported her husband and both bicycles back to the couple’s car located a short distance away.

Shawna Marie Hatchell, 29, of Gearhart, was arrested Aug. 8 at 7:34 p.m., on Bailey Lane in Gearhart after state police received a report of a blue Ford Fusion being driven in a dangerous manner on U.S. Highway 101. Clatsop deputies located the car and state police arrived on scene after it was determined Hatchell was earlier involved in a minor motor vehicle accident and appeared impaired. She was charged with driving while under the influence and had a blood alcohol count of .25% after being tested.

A 40-year-old Gearhart man told state police Aug. 15 at 8:44 p.m. he was attempting to help someone who got their vehicle stuck in the sand between the Del Rey Beach and Sunset Beach access points; as he was helping them extricate their car, one of the occupants of the stuck vehicle went inside his car and stole his backpack. He described the occupants as a male and a female in their 20s driving a gray Dodge pick up with an extended cab with Oregon plates. He’s certain the female took his bag. The contents of the bag were not included in this report.

State police went to U.S. Highway 101 near milepost 23.5 Aug. 11 at 3:35 p.m., for a report of a two-car, rear-end collision. On arrival they saw a Buick rear-ended a Corolla during stop-and-go traffic in Seaside. The female passenger of the Corolla was transported to Seaside Providence Hospital after reporting neck pain and the driver of the Buick, a Washington woman, was given a citation.

Cherilee Mcanelly, 47 of Seaside, was taken into custody after resisting arrest Aug. 11 at 3:44 p.m. in Warrenton. State police assisted another agency. A trooper stood by as she was interviewed and a video of the incident was forwarded to the district attorney’s office.

Seaside police assisted Oregon State Police and Warrenton police Aug. 17 at 6:32 p.m. pursuing a criminal in a chase that started in Warrenton and ended in a crash in Seaside on Wahanna Road. Dustin Forsman drove his car into the shallow river after Seaside Police spiked his tires. He was arrested on scene after being captured.

Timothy Joseph Butcher, 61, from Ventura, CA was arrested Aug. 17 at 8:24 p.m. on U.S. Highway 101 in Warrenton after Seaside Dispatch notified Oregon State Police of a Dodge Durango reported stolen from Brookings now entering Seaside. Due to a traffic delay, Seaside police asked assistance locating the car which an Oregon trooper and a Clatsop County deputy located traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 101. A traffic stop was initiated. Butcher eventually yielded and surrendered and was arrested by deputies. The vehicle was secured by Warrenton police. The Brookings Police Department is the lead investigating agency.

A 45-year-old Seaside man was issued citations for driving without a license, driving uninsured, and careless driving after crashing into an ODOT work zone Aug. 18 at 9:32 a.m. on U.S. Highway 26 and Nordmark Drive as state police say he was “fidgeting with his dog.” He crashed into the back of a Caterpillar loader. No injuries were reported. His car was towed from the scene by Gary’s Tow.

A deer who ran into the road Aug. 20 at 3:12 p.m., on U.S.Highway 101 near milepost 17 was struck by one car that pulled over to the northbound shoulder and stopped. The deer kept going and was struck by a second car. A trooper patrolling the area came on the crash and saw the collision damaged the radiator of the second car which had to be removed by Triangle Towing. A local resident removed the deer for harvest.

A two-vehicle crash with minor injuries was reported Aug. 21 at 1:00 p.m. on U.S.Highway 101 and milepost 24 when a Honda Civic rear-ended a Kia Soul. One driver sustained minor injuries from a deployed air-bag. The Seaside Fire Department was on scene. Both cars were able to be driven from the area.

Oregon State Police assisted Clatsop County deputies Aug. 21 at 1:16 p.m., at a rural address on U.S.Highway 26 in response to a report of domestic violence. One person, a 54-year-old Seaside woman, had left the residence prior to police arrival. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating.

Oregon State Police went to Broadway Park in Seaside Aug. 21 at 6:23 p.m., to assist Seaside police with an incident of domestic violence. Janna Kristin Lyski, 39, of Portland, was taken into custody and transported to the Clatsop County Jail as Seaside police were temporarily short-handed.
